Business Strategy Lounge Kicks Off 2026 with CEO Strategy Meeting
Business Strategy Lounge (BSL), a strategy platform for senior business leaders, opened its 2026 activities with its January session, bringing together founders and chief executives to address profitability, structure and execution within Nigeria’s business environment.
The session was held at the Lagos Marriott Hotel and brought together leaders from different sectors. Organisers said the meeting was designed as a working strategy session rather than a conference. Participants reviewed their businesses through guided exercises, identified areas of revenue loss, examined operational gaps and outlined priorities for the year.
The January session was facilitated by GLI consults, the firm behind Business Strategy Lounge, and led by its chief executive, Abayomi Adewumi, who also convenes the platform.
“Many Nigerian businesses are hardworking but underperforming, not because of a lack of effort, but because profit, structure and execution are not deliberately designed,” Adewumi said during the session. “BSL exists to help business leaders step back, think clearly, and build businesses that actually work.”
Among the business leaders in attendance were Clement Tolulope of Pennak, Yvonne Femi Adewumi of Giftelleo, Blessing Ebede of Tehills Consult, Damilare Oluwasegun of Musterion Communications, Ebunoluwa Dosumu of Shakara Trybe, Oladeji Yusuf of Must Energy, Wapiri Eli of Zatae, Gbenga Akinpelu of Bigym and Yemisi Shyllon of Yemozil Investments.
Organisers said the focus of the January session was to help founders reduce dependence on personal involvement by building systems that support continuity and growth. Discussions centred on designing clear structures, improving decision-making and strengthening execution across teams.
Since its launch, Business Strategy Lounge has engaged more than 150 business leaders, whose companies represent over ₦25 billion in combined business value, according to GLI consults. The platform runs sessions during the year for leaders seeking structured strategy work rather than motivation-led events.
Participants at the January 2026 edition said the value of the session came from peer-level discussions, practical exercises and tools that could be applied within their organisations immediately.
Looking ahead, Business Strategy Lounge plans to hold six sessions in 2026. Each session will focus on a specific area of business performance, including profit design, systems, execution, revenue growth, leadership resilience and long-term scale. The series is expected to conclude with a BSL Mega Conference later in the year.
GLI consults said the initiative forms part of a wider effort to support businesses in Nigeria by improving how organisations are built, governed and run. As economic conditions continue to change, organisers said Business Strategy Lounge aims to work with business leaders who want clearer direction, stronger systems and consistent execution.
