Alan Tyrrell set to take up the role of CEO of The Reputations Agency
The Reputations Agency has announced that founder and CEO Niamh Boyle will step down from her role at the end of March as part of a planned succession strategy, with Alan Tyrrell set to take over the leadership of the business.
Boyle, who established the firm in 2004, will formally step down as CEO on 31 March 2026 and will continue to work with a number of clients as a senior adviser on high-level reputation strategy.
The agency said the transition marks the next phase of growth for the consultancy, which specialises in insight-driven strategic advisory services in reputation and communications.
Tyrrell joined the firm at the start of February from Teneo, where he served as a Senior Managing Director in Ireland.
Over more than 13 years, he advised Irish and international clients on reputation, leadership, culture, employer brand, social impact and strategy, as well as on issues and crisis communications, M&A and restructuring.
The leadership change comes as the agency continues to expand its offering to blue-chip organisations, working with CEOs, executive teams and boards on reputation-led transformation and growth strategies.
Commenting on the change, outgoing CEO Niamh Boyle said: “I am delighted to welcome Alan to our business following a competitive recruitment process in 2025.
“Alan is a highly experienced leader in communication and business strategy with over 25 years of experience working in consultancy and in-house.
“His joining the firm will lead it into the next phase of our development, and we aim to bring innovative new approaches to solving our clients’ most pressing business needs.
“Since I established the business in 2004, we have focused on providing senior reputation counsel to our clients, developing reputation strategies that help protect and build their businesses.
“We’ve grown in that time and passed many important milestones. We are synonymous with auditing and advising on corporate reputations throughout Ireland and have built a successful corporate and consumer communications business in that time. We deeply appreciate the trust our clients place in us and are proud to work with each of them.
“One of our early decisions was becoming the exclusive partner in Ireland to the global RepTrak Company in 2009. This partnership continues today and anchors our work and insights in world-class reputation measurement.
“Today, we are also part of the CCG Group and work alongside our sister agencies Mindshare, Folk, and Goosebump in the WPP-VML group of agencies in Ireland. Our global family now encompasses more than 30,000 employees across 150 offices in 60 markets. Now, we are at another milestone and entering an ambitious new phase for our firm.“
Commenting on his appointment, incoming CEO Tyrrell, said: “I’ve always admired and respected the pioneering approach to reputation and value creation championed by Niamh and The Reputations Agency.
“As CEOs and leadership teams grapple with unparalleled technological, economic, and societal change, the unique focus of The Reputations Agency on insight-driven strategic reputation is now more important than ever.

“Joining such a strong team and helping clients to harness the power of their reputation is an opportunity and a challenge I am excited to take up.
“I look forward to collaborating with the team, partners, and clients in the next phase of growth and continuing to set a benchmark for excellence in reputation and communication strategy.”
During her tenure, Boyle also served as President and Chair of Chambers Ireland, a Board and Council member of Dublin Chamber, and Chair and Board member of Friends of St Luke’s Cancer Care.
